This lovely couple chose to have their engagement session at their wedding venue and I am so glad they did.
When I first spoke with Kaitlin during her consultation call, I hadn’t heard of Six Pastures Farm, so I took a quick look online. It didn’t take long to see why her and Tyler fell in love with this place—the barn and rolling pastures were quite stunning.
Engagement sessions are included in all my wedding packages, which gives us a chance to connect before the big day and learn more about each other. And if you choose to have your engagement session at your venue can be helpful as well, as it allows me to familiarize myself with the property if I have never been there before. While it is not necessary for me to have experience at a venue before photographing a wedding there, it allowed Kaitlin and Tyler to show me their favorite spots, which means I’ll know exactly where to go for portraits on their wedding day. Plus, we had the opportunity to take photos in places we may not have time to stop at on the wedding day, since the venue is so expansive.
If you’re at a loss for where to have your engagement session, consider choosing your wedding venue. Not only does it give me a chance to get familiar with the location, but it also allows you to get beautiful photos across the property, even in spots you might not be able to get to on the wedding day.
