There’s something about the getting-ready room, with the coffee going, curling irons heating up, someone’s already crying, that I genuinely love to photograph. There are logistics involved, like nailing down a hair and makeup timeline so everything flows before the ceremony, but honestly? It is a beautiful time to spend with your favorite girls. It is filled with excitement, nerves, and it’s a moment you’ll want to soak in.
One of the key elements in creating the perfect atmosphere during this special time is the music playing in the background. The right playlist can set the tone, calm nerves, and enhance the joyous atmosphere. That’s why I’ve curated a special playlist full of a wide range of songs that I love to recommend to my brides for their bridal prep.
The Bridal Prep Playlist: My Favorites
Here are just a few of my favorites that can be found on the playlist:
- “Marry Me” by Train
- “Kiss Me” by Sixpence None the Richer
- “Love Song (Taylor’s Version)” by Taylor Swift
- “Dancing Queen” by Mamma Mia Cast
- “Signed, Sealed, Delivered” by Stevie Wonder
- “At Last” by Etta James
- “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You” by Frankie Valli
- “Because You Live” by Jesse McCartney
- “I’ll Be” by Edwin McCain
- “This Will Be (An Everlasting Love)” by Natalie Cole
From timeless classics to modern favorites, each song adds to the bridal prep experience. If you are a 90’s baby like me, there will be some fun throwbacks that you probably haven’t listened to since middle school or high school!
As a photographer, I’m always paying attention to the small things, and the music playing while you’re getting ready is no exception. It’s the soundtrack to your moments of laughter, tears, and heartfelt conversations with your closest friends and family.

Remember, your wedding day is a reflection of your love story. Feel free to take any of these songs and add them to a playlist you’ve already begun, or make a copy of this playlist and get rid of any songs that don’t fit you.
