Venue photos that feel like opening the windows for the first time and letting in the warm, fresh air. That’s the only way I know how to describe what it’s like to photograph a wedding at Long Branch Historic House & Farm. The warm weather this weekend has me dreaming of days like this one on the Virginia countryside, and I had to share these images.

A Venue That Feels Like Home
Tucked away in Clarke County, Virginia, Long Branch is one of those places that feels timeless the moment you arrive. A grand historic manor house with sweeping staircases and brass chandeliers, and gorgeous grounds, it’s genuinely hard to take a bad photo here.

What I Love About Photographing Long Branch
Every corner of this property tells a story, and as a photographer, that’s everything. Some of my favorite moments from this wedding day:
- The grand curved staircase inside the manor: a perfect spot for portraits with that warm, natural light pouring in.
- The open front doors framing a sunlit porch
- The outdoor ceremony setup, rows of white chairs on the lawn with mountains stretching out in the distance. I only wish I owned my drone last time I photographed here to get a beautiful aerial view of the ceremony location.
- The reception tent at golden hour: silhouettes of guests, string lights, and that last stretch of warm evening light
- The cross arch ceremony backdrop surrounded by wildflower arrangements, simple and stunning
- Horses grazing in the pasture just beyond the fence line — it doesn’t get more Virginia than that

Similar Virginia Venues I Would Love to Photograph in 2026 & 2027
Long Branch is one of many breathtaking historic estate venues across Virginia. If you’re getting married at any of the following venues, I would love to connect! These are places I’m actively dreaming about since moving to Virginia in 2024.
- Pippin Hill Farm & Vineyards — North Garden, VA (Charlottesville area)
- Keswick Estate — Keswick, VA
- Clifton Inn — Charlottesville, VA
- King Family Vineyards — Crozet, VA
- Goodstone Inn & Estate — Middleburg, VA
- Morven Park — Leesburg, VA
- Oatlands Historic House & Gardens — Leesburg, VA
- Belmont Manor & Historic Farm — Elkridge (just over the VA/MD line, but had to add it to the list!)
- Barboursville Vineyards — Barboursville, VA
- The Manor at Airlie — Warrenton, VA
Whether you’re getting married at Long Branch Historic House and Farm, one of the other venues I listed, or even eloping in the mountains, Virginia has no shortage of extraordinary views and venues. I’m based in Harrisonburg and love traveling throughout the Shenandoah Valley, Charlottesville, Northern Virginia, and beyond to tell love stories in beautiful places!
